If you are following an ancestral, traditional foods diet, you are probably always on the lookout for ideas of yummy meals that you can make at home that are nutrient dense and nourishing for your family.
These easy nourishing lunches are some of my favorites – they’re easy, quick to make, and toddler approved.
Each meal is balanced with some protein, some carbs, and some fats to try to be metabolically balanced and provide the body with energy and satiation.

Easy Nourishing Lunches
Artisan Board
Artisan Boards are an easy lunch to prepare and be able to share with your whole family. You can make them with a variety of different kinds of cheeses, meats, crackers or bread, fruit and veggies, and fermented foods. Use your cravings and whatever you have on hand as a guide. In my board pictured I had Organic Roasted Turkey lunchmeat, organic salami, raw cheese, Hu Crackers, Fermented Pickles, oysters and clementines.
Egg Avocado Toast
This lunch is an over Easy egg on avocado toast (on sourdough bread of course); Served with a side of fermented sauerkraut and raw cheese. I grew up having this meal often for breakfast, and its still one of my favs!
Grilled Cheese with oysters, fermented pickles, and a clementine
Anyone else obsessed with raw cheese and sourdough bread? I love putting them together to make a nutrient dense grilled cheese sandwich! Serve with a side of oysters, fermented pickles, and fruit for a nourishing twist on a classic kid’s favorite.
Tuna with crackers, a baked apple, and fermented pickles
I love doing tuna lunches when I need a quick and easy protein. I like to purchase the brand Safe Catch tuna because they test each fish for high mercury levels. I like mixing some homemade Mayo (or Primal Kitchen Mayo) to give it a creamy texture, and eat with a side of crackers or sourdough toast. Serve with a baked apple and a fermented side!
Pasture Raised Beef Hotdogs, Soft Boiled Egg, Sauerkraut, Homemade Banana Muffin and Gelatin Gummies
This lunch usually centers around the pasture raised mini hotdogs, and you can serve whatever sides with it that you want. Today I chose to do a soft boiled egg and some fermented sauerkraut. I also had some leftover homemade banana muffins that I made with sprouted wheat flour, as well as a few homemade gelatin gummies.
