What are the Health Benefits of Gelatin?
Gelatin is found in the bones of animals and it contains nutrients that are nourishing for our skin, hair, and nails. Gelatin may actually help improve digestion by supporting gut health, and help support a healthy metabolism! If you’ve ever made bone broth, you’ll know that gelatin is what makes the bone broth become gelatinous and give it that solid “jiggle”.
Does Gelatin help hair growth?
In my experience, YES! About 3 months after regularly eating these gummies, I noticed that my hair was the longest it had ever been! My nails were also incredibly strong. I really attribute this growth to the gelatin, because I hadn’t changed anything else in my diet.
Where to purchase High Quality Gelatin?
When shopping for gelatin, it’s important to find a brand that is made from cows that were pastured raised. My favorite brand to purchase gelatin from is Perfect Supplements.
Perfect Supplements Gelatin is certified glyphosate free, and they also provide 3rd party lab test results on their gelatin (and all their products). You can read those lab results here.
Perfect Supplements is by far my favorite gelatin and the only one that I use anymore.

Can you make homemade gummies without a mold?
Absolutely! I actually never use a mold for my gummies. In this recipe I will show you how to make gummies without a mold, using any square container you have such as a casserole dish or a pyrex dish.
Can you make homemade gummies without gelatin?
Yes, you can make homemade gummies without gelatin using Agar-Agar powder. Agar Agar powder is a gelatin alternative made from seaweed. However, in this recipe I will be sharing my gelatin gummy recipe because I believe gelatin is a super food for kids!

Gather your Supplies:

How To Make Homemade Gummies with Gelatin:
- First measure out your juice and gelatin. The rule of thumb is 1 Tablespoon of gelatin per 1 cup of juice. Today I’m doing 2 cups of juice and 2 Tbs of gelatin. If you are using Perfect Supplements, 2 TBS of Gelatin is the equivalent to ONE scoop!
2. Next, pour your juice into a pot and pour your gelatin into the juice. Allow to sit for a few minutes to “bloom”….bloom means allowing the gelatin to activate in your liquid!
3. After gelatin has bloomed, move pot to stove and heat over medium heat for a few minutes. Whisk your gelatin in and allow it to gently heat on the stove until gelatin melts. Don’t let it boil, just a gentle warming!
4. Carefully pour juice and melted gelatin into a glass container.
5. Set dish in the fridge to allow gelatin to solidify. It typically takes about 2 hours. After 2 hours your homemade gummies should be ready to cut and eat!
6. Cut gummies into squares or rectangles using a knife. Now they’re ready to enjoy!
Storage:
Store gummies in the fridge in a glass dish with a lid! I keep them in the same dish I made them in originally.
